BACKGROUND
Led and founded by Azrai Razuan, a seasoned technopreneur with career experience in top level motorsport, automotive & new technologies, the core AZR team includes a mix of technical & commercial professionals with high competency for identifying innovative, commercially viable new technologies with intimate understanding of the transportation industry needs and value chain.

Our Team
A self-taught mechanic at a young age, Azrai pursued a degree in mechanical engineering followed by a career in entrepreneurship, motorsport (including F1), automotive & energy storage tech.
His other interests include rocketry, aviation, technology & personal growth.
Azrai Razuan
Co-Founder & CEO
Khaidi is a brand communications specialist. His career experience included a period with PROTON where he co-founded their motorsport division (Proton R3).
He founded Bulb Communique in 2009, a rapidly growing Malaysian advertising and marketing agency with an enviable list of clients.
Khaidi Kamaruddin
Co-Founder & CMO
Ruhaidi obtained his engineering degree in Germany, in Aerospace Contruction.
He is a stress calculation specialist with 21 years of working experience in the European motorsport industry which included long stints in F1 and GT motorsport division of a prominent German OEM.
Ruhaidi Rashid
Engineering Director
Datuk Fazlur was the Chief Strategy and Ventures Officer of a major public listed utilities corporation and was responsible for their long-term strategy development & implementation, incorporating energy transition trends and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) agenda.
He provides advisory to AZR in matters concerning corporate & finance, energy trends and ESG.
Datuk Fazlur Rahman
Corporate Advisor
Zurin worked with MNCs for over 15 years and was accountable in producing accurate, analytical performance reporting for key management decision making. She regularly led process improvement initiatives, process standardisation and managed stakeholder relationships.
She manages our accounts and financial reporting
Zurin Yazmin
Sr. Finance Manager
Dr Nik is an Associate Professor and the head of the Power Electronics and Drives Research Group (PEDG) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His research interests include control of AC drive systems and DSP applications in power electronic systems. He provides the collaborative R&D link on electric drivetrain systems with local universities.
Dr Nik Rumzi Nik Idris
Research Advisor
Syakiq is a Mechanical Engineer with over 5 years working experience in CAE, Vehicle Dynamics, Powertrain Systems involving IC Engines and EV systems. He obtained his degree from the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg in Germany and has worked for PROTON and companies involved in electric commercial vehicles.

Project Engineer
Dr Rajoo is currently the Director of LoCARtic in UTM and is responsible for managing the centre’s strategic efforts to conduct cutting edge research projects and collaborate globally with industry and academic partners. His research activities involves engines, boosting systems and waste heat recovery, all towards driving down carbon from transport and energy sectors. He received his PhD from Imperial College London.
